"As a local, I want to be proud and supportive of my local university. However, it is with much regret that I write of an action they have recently committed that is leaving a sour taste. I purchased several tickets (with premium pricing) to their recent home baseball game against the Arkansas Razorbacks, and it was rained out. Naturally, you would want a refund for a product you purchase that is not delivered. Missouri State will not refund me my money for the purchase, but they had no problem taking my money. Now, the money is important, but the most appalling thing is the principle of doing the right thing being spat upon by the athletics department. It was also not stated that the purchase was non-refundable, but even if it was, they were not able to deliver the product that they promised and should offer one regardless. I have contacted the athletic department several times, and have been assured that I will receive a call from an administrator in the department. However, I have not received a phone call from them, and when I contact the athletic department they act very put out that I am calling for this issue. Now, they haven't picked up the phone or returned my call, despite leaving voicemail with callback info. I wish the Bears success, and I like seeing all the upgrades that are happening (such as new turf, LED lighting, volleyball court, etc.), but their action is not a good business model for building support or a fan base that is needed to get where they are trying to go as an athletics department. I hope that the university sees this and decides to do the right thing. A simple apology and refund would be sufficient."
