Reviews Summary

Crow Peak is a highly recommended hike for its stunning summit views and rewarding challenge. While the trail is generally moderate, the final ascent is steep and rocky, requiring good fitness. Hikers praise the beautiful scenery and the sense of accomplishment upon reaching the peak, though some find the rocky sections demanding.

"So, it's moderate until you get about .6 miles from the top, then it's hard... and rocky. On a 1-10 scale of being in shape, I'm about 7, so it definitely pushed me, but I loved it ( except for the rock trails). It's beautiful scenery"

Tevi Robinson

"Overall, this is a moderate hike when you consider the distance involved (around 7 miles round trip). There are a couple of steeper sections, but the overall grade is pretty approachable. One section requires some scrambling over some rocks, but our group of five adults and two dogs had no issues. Bring plenty of water (dogs included) as it can get warm in the sun exposed areas even on cooler days. The view from the top is fantastic and well worth the effort."

Jason Dyer

"Crow Peak Trail is a mountain trail right outside Spearfish SD. You have to take a surprisingly wide enough dirt road to the trailhead. It was a beautiful hike with amazing scenery all around. At 5600 ft, it is not the tallest but it definitely gets steep towards the peak. The views from the top are simply amazing."
