Reviews Summary

Pope Beach is praised for its stunningly clear waters, expansive sandy shores, and picturesque pine trees, offering a beautiful natural setting. However, visitors should be prepared for potential crowds, especially on weekends and holidays, and the lack of on-site concessions means packing all your own food and drinks. Some guests have also noted issues with parking fees and staff helpfulness during peak times.

"This place is not the ideal spot for a peaceful weekend getaway. It’s packed with loud music playing everywhere, which completely defeats the purpose of connecting with nature. To top it off, they charge $12 for parking."

"We got here today, and it was 66° outside with breezy wind. Not harsh wind. The water was cold to the touch, but once you get in your body, adjust to it. The water is so clear and beautiful. It's better than the Bay Beach near hwy 1.

Family of 4. Costs $12 to enter. Lots of spaces and picnic tables to eat. Come early for better parking close to seating at the beach. No reservations are needed."

"Hey there! I recently visited Pope Beach for the 4th of July fireworks, and let me tell you, the beach itself is absolutely gorgeous! The views and sandy beaches are truly stunning. However, I did encounter some challenges with the staff during my visit. Unfortunately, they were not able to accept my handicap passes Great American state park pass and the federal all access handicap pass one also, and the parking fee was higher than usual at $45 instead of $12. Despite the cancellation of the fireworks show, some staff members seemed unaware and unhelpful. I even asked for assistance due to my breathing issues, but was met with resistance she stated “ I don’t want the liability”! It would have been nice to receive a bit more support and understanding in that situation. Overall, I still enjoyed the beauty of the beach, but I hope the staff can work on being more accommodating in the future. ( lady staff was rude) NO HANDICAP passes accepted."
