"I've been hiking this trail since the 1970s. It hasn't changed much since then other than the landslide. It's a nice hike, quite vertical with two or three scrambles up some rock facings with plenty of hand-holds. Fantastic views north towards Monadnock in NH (on a clear day) and south towards Hartford, CT. Great to climb with kids. Parking lot fills up early on the weekends, so best to climb it during the week."

"This is a great mountain for a quick climb. It's steep and relatively demanding but it's doable for just about everyone. I did the climb in flip flops while constantly holding a redbull so you should be able to do it in shoes easily. The view is nearly 360 degrees when you're on top and you'll definitely want to take pictures.
I would go in the afternoon, that way the main path is shaded so you don't get wicked over heated. Enjoy it!"
