"South Bend’s East Race never disappoints! The East Race diversion is just south of the Century Center. The noise level is much louder as the flooded water furiously rushes through the raceway. And once it reaches the river again near the boat dock, it glides back into the St. Joe River as if it’s rushing anger has subsided. The river is still running swiftly because of being flooded, but it doesn’t display the rolling turmoil caused by the concrete obstacles that makes the East Race one of the Best kayaking training waterways in the US!"
