"It took about half an hour to get up the mountain in my rented Elantra. I probably wouldn't have tried the trip in my own car. Its not for the faint of heart either. Once at the top, the gate was locked, as expected. I parked in what appeared to be a small parking area and hiked the rest of the way. It wasn't easy but well worth it. The view was amazing. It was almost 40° colder and windy as hell, so prepare for that."
