"We walked here right at opening time on a Sunday. Unfortunately, the church was closed due to renovations, but the person in the gift shop said that we were allowed to wander around the premises. The backdrop of this mission is gorgeous with green Hills and a stations of the cross area that people can walk around. We had a really nice time walking around and enjoying the surroundings."

"Like most of the mission on the Camino Real (Royal Road) in California this one centers on a sizable Adobe Church and a small religious community with old shady trees and grapevines.
Unfortunately, it has been under major renovation for quite some time and it is impossible to look inside of the structure except a peak from the door if you buy a ticket. Seems hardly worthwhile to buy a ticket just to peek in the door. It would be far more productive if they could offer a nice explanatory pamphlet or signage along with a brief entrance to the area that is not being heavily worked on just so visitors could get a real feel for the place."
