"Very cool but tragic... It seems there is some construction goin on with the dam. I watched pelicans at the toe of the dam fishing in the churned which water leaving the powerhouse side of the dam. You can access the river below dam. There is a trailhead at the dam that will take you to an overlook of the Corps of Discovery Lower Portage Camp. Also east of the damn is Sulfer Springs, the water from which, according to Captain Lewis, was said to have cured a very sick Sacagawea."
