What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Indian Well State Park is widely appreciated for its clean, beautiful natural setting, featuring a lovely beach on the Housatonic River and a picturesque waterfall. Visitors enjoy the ample picnic facilities and the accessibility of its attractions. However, some guests have noted a strong police presence that can alter the park's atmosphere, and weekend traffic exiting the park can be a concern.
"The place was clean and quiet. We didn’t pay for parking, and we went on a weekday. Maybe because it was cold, there weren’t many people. But it was beautiful place , totally worth it we had some wonderful pic"

"Beautiful clean park with tons of picnic tables and grills for cooking. We went there to hike and check out the waterfall, but now we are going to come back with our Jetski and enjoy the beach!"
Helen Loomis
"Beautiful state park. We went towards the end of July thinking the beach would be packed, but we were the only ones there on a Thursday morning. Upon entry to the park you will be greeted by a gate attendant. Price is $10, unless you have CT plates. From the gate it was a minute drive to get to the parking lot to the beach. No lifeguard on duty that day, so the flag to swim was yellow. The beach was clean and there was a large gaggle of geese towards one end. Careful sitting under the trees or around the picnic tables as you may touch sticky sap. Overall, the kids enjoyed the water- they said it was very shallow and the temperature was just right as they weren't cold at all coming out of the water."
