What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lake Massapoag is praised for its beautiful, clean, and clear waters, making it ideal for swimming, kayaking, and sailing. Visitors appreciate the scenic beauty, especially the stunning sunsets and the opportunities for fishing and jogging. However, a significant drawback mentioned is the implementation of paid parking, which has replaced free access and is seen by some as a way to keep non-residents out.
"I love this lake but there's no free parking anymore. They made all the public parking lots PAID now (2 years ago it wasn't like this).
So there's no way to enjoy public land/lake without paying for a day pass or a permit.
But they did get a bunch new toys for theselves like a nice lawnmower and sand leveling car. It seems like the town voted to keep outsiders out of their lake and spend the money on new toys for themselves instead of sharing this public land/lake with others.
Greedy town with priorities set on keeping people out and getting more for themselves. Shame."

"Great Lake. You can swim, sail, or lounge around it. It’s also a couple of miles long so good place to jog or ride."

"Lovely lake for swimming and kayaking"
