What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Sedona Arts Center for its beautiful collection of local art and the welcoming atmosphere. Many appreciate the opportunity to support local artists and find unique pieces. However, some reviews mention issues with shipping artwork and inconsistent customer service experiences.
"In January, my husband and I popped in your shop after finding artwork by a local artist in a restaurant downtown. We were told that the lady working at this establishment would be able to assist us with finding the local artist. Instead, we were met with a woman who was not helpful. When we entered the shop, she was doing her best to show off to another woman by behaving like a stuck up bore. We found her to be rude, condescending, and extremely disrespectful to us and about the local artist who shamelessly had art displayed in a restaurant. She was very curt to us, obviously judging our station in life, based upon
an artist who made an emotional connection with me though a piece of hand thrown pottery.
Being with the military for 30+ years I have collected pottery from 43 countries. Some pieces were very expensive, some not so much. All have called to me by creating a sense of wonder, invoking a deep emotion or calmness, and a few mark a point in time recreating the exilleration of an adventure or memory with a single glance.
I really don't know or care who this woman was. She either has no appreciation of the process of creation or is incapable of seeing a piece of art beyond the dollar sign.
The bottom line for me? When you hire personnel, they should be helpful/respectful. This person is the face of your organization. In future trips to Sedona, we will ensure we do not reenter this establishment based on her disdainful attitude."

"I love this whole area! It’s so fun and beautiful! Definitely stop in and enjoy the art as well! Out of respect I didn’t photograph the inside, most shops don’t like pictures of the art taken, but the environment around with all the shops is so fun and inviting!"

"I am writing to express my extreme disappointment in receiving my painting back recently.
I had a painting in a show that didn't sell. Not an unusual situation and that is not why I'm upset. I live in Colorado so was unable to drop off/pick up my work so I shipped my artwork to them and sent a return label for shipping back.
The painting was so poorly packed that the corners are all damaged and dented. There was not enough bubble wrap to secure my painting in the box as well as it just being poorly packed all together. Thankfully the face of the painting was not damaged so I can salvage my artwork.
As an arts professional myself, artwork safety during shipping is a priority and it makes me frustrated that the Sedona Arts Center doesn't hold the same high standards as a supposed reputable arts organization.
I will not be showing with this business ever again and will also want to warn other artists of my experience."
