What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests love the prime location directly on the promenade with spectacular ocean views and the convenience of nearby shops and restaurants. Many appreciate the dog-friendly options and in-room amenities like jetted tubs. However, some find the limited service, thin walls, and tight parking to be drawbacks, leading to a less modern hotel experience.
"This was a wonderful place, right on the promenade and the view was spectacular even from the first floor. They allow dogs and there was a small kitchen for light cooking. It had everything we needed to cook a few breakfasts and a dinner (bring your own spices). The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. As a bonus there was an electric fireplace and large jetted tub with lots of hot water."

"August 2025. 2 Night stay. Drove down from Seattle area.
PROS: Solid room, nicer bathroom with a spa tub. Close to the activity/beach/prom as advertised.
CONS: Little to no service available - very limited hours, nobody on staff or answering the phone number when we needed them -you are on your own. It's honestly amazing there was someone there when we checked in. Sign overload, cameras everywhere and signs pointing that out but no humans around.
Not much privacy - i.e. Not that AC is needed, but the lack of it has everybody with their windows open all the time in warmer weather. You get to know the sounds of all of your neighbors INTIMATELY as well as their pets... and boy you better hope you have similar schedules! Some might like this and find it charming but for me, time warping to vacationing in the 1950's was not ideal.
Lastly the parking is rough. Available but only for compact cars. Someone parked a huge Jeep blocking the the rest of the cars in and we could not get our tiny Kia out. And as there is no staff to be found there was little we could do but get frustrated and start knocking on doors to find the owner of the vehicle. Imagine having that knock on your door in the morning with no staff around! Sorry to whomever that was, my apologies!
We will likely go with a more modern hotel when visiting Seaside in the future."

"Rough stay- we left with several bug bites after one night there, specifically from the pillows. Stayed in room 9.
Loud cleaners shouting at each other and sweeping by 830 am in the hallways that forced an earlier start than we preferred.
Check in is extremely strict at 4. Checked out with front desk lady before 11 and got a call at 11:14 asking when we were returning our room key.
Location is fine, but for a better price, service, and experience, we would go elsewhere."

The Charm of Seaside's Promenade
Many visitors highlight the convenience of accommodations located directly on or adjacent to the promenade, providing instant access to the beach and the lively atmosphere. This makes it incredibly easy to enjoy spontaneous beach walks or catch a sunset without any hassle. The promenade itself is well-maintained and accessible, suitable for all ages and mobility levels.
While the promenade offers a classic seaside experience, some travelers note that the charm can be accompanied by certain quirks. Thin walls in some older accommodations mean you might hear your neighbors, and on-site services can be limited. However, for many, the unbeatable location and the quintessential beach town vibe more than compensate for these minor drawbacks.
Navigating Accommodations and Amenities
However, it's important to manage expectations regarding service and privacy. Reviews suggest that some establishments operate with minimal staff, leading to a 'self-service' feel. This can mean limited hours for check-in or assistance. Additionally, the close proximity of rooms, indicated by thin walls, can lead to noise from neighbors and their pets, creating a more intimate, though sometimes less private, experience.
For those traveling with pets, many hotels offer dog-friendly rooms, often featuring patios that are perfect for people-watching and enjoying the coastal air. This makes Seaside a welcoming destination for furry companions. Parking can also be a consideration, with spaces sometimes being tight, especially for larger vehicles.
