Today we honor the holy name of Mary. The Ave Maris Stella is a hymn from around the 9th century. There’s a story about St. Bridget was in danger from mobs in Rome, the Blessed Mother advised, “Sing as a group the Ave Maris Stella and I will guard you from every danger.” This is a good prayer to pray when you are in danger and also to get to your destination safely. ~The Ave Maris Stella prayer...

This is Catholic Voices and Prayers — bringing saints’ stories to life! Today is September 12th. The Church celebrates the Most Holy Name of Mary, reminding us that her name is a source of comfort, strength, and victory. "A sacred space with very old history and her story. I was drawn to see this historical building when visiting the Tower of History. When I inquired about being able to go inside I was delighted when the man in the Tower lobby said that we could. He than told us some history about the church.

I loved the tranquility felt as soon as we stepped inside the front door. I bathed in it and it within. What beautiful architecture, I breathed it all in.

I knelt at the front and gave thanks. I filled my cup full of goodness.

I gazed at each piece of framed art surrounding the sanctuary. Moving throughout the space with ease and grace, I placed eyes upon each statue.

At the side foyer I place $3 in the candle bank. I lit a candle and said a prayer.

I enjoyed the artifacts displayed in the foyer and took in the energy of Mary and her grace.

Thank you for sharing your space with many. It was beautiful."

"A beautiful church that I was told to go visit. When I arrived, after lunch it was closed."
