"Spending a few days in Santa Ynez Wine Country we, of course, wanted to visit at least one winery and luckily we decided on Roblar Winery. We were there mid-week in late summer and parking was easy. Not only is Roblar a vineyard but they also have a beautiful vegetable garden on the grounds and on the way into the main building there is a small covered farm stand where you can purchase their freshly picked vegetables and pay on the honor system.
We made reservations for 1:00p lunch and were seated outside within a few minutes. It was a beautiful day and they have a gorgeous comfortable outdoor eating area surrounded by the gardens and vineyard. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful in helping us choose some wines to taste and food items for lunch. For our meal we started with the Marinated Olives, which were varied and tasty. I ordered the Garlic Hummus which was excellent, served with warm house-made pita bread and a beautiful variety of fresh vegetables. My friend had the Roblar Panzanella salad which she adored and has been trying to recreate it since we’ve been home. We also ordered three wines to sample and ended up taking home a few bottles of the rose, which was light and perfect for the late summer afternoon meal.

The service was fantastic — everyone was very friendly, and Nancy went above and beyond by explaining each wine in Spanish so my mom could follow along and enjoy the tasting. That personal touch was so appreciated.
