I’m in San Francisco for a few days, staying in the financial district, and would love to hit a couple of great stores while I’m here. The closest to my hotel is 101 Music but it doesn’t look all that impressive from what I’ve seen/read. Of course, I could be very wrong. I’ll…
What's your go-to record stores in San Francisco? +1 if they have cool merch.
I'm going to be going to the bay area next month and really want to hit up some record stores. Probably the only one I know off the top of my head is Amoeba. While great selection and fair prices are important, I'm a sucker for store merch like t-shirts and tote bags. So which…

"Visited today, wish I could've bought a stack of records but am flying out of the US and don't have the luggage space. BUT I will definitely recommend this awesome store to others. Amazing punk selection, solid alt rock, uncommonly fair prices and the dude working there was the nicest guy. Love from 🇦🇺"

"this is the best place to get cassettes in the entire bay area. I have been to 9 other shops in the past 2 weeks. thrillhouse has such good deals and such an insane selection. I almost didn't want to write a review, just because I didn't want others picking their shelves before I could again!!
I had to, though. this place is amazing and charges $10 for new releases, then $2-8 for old classics and well known albums. they have an indie section that teaches you about local stuff and staff that seems super knowledgeable. the people I've chatted with here, customers and clerks alike, all had a great vibe.
seriously, even the places in oakland and hayward were more expensive and bare"
