What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mission Beach Boardwalk offers a classic California beach experience with its lively amusement park, scenic boardwalk, and sandy shores. Visitors praise the beautiful ocean views, the fun atmosphere, and the opportunities for outdoor activities like biking and surfing. However, some reviews highlight issues with cleanliness in public restrooms and the high cost of food in tourist areas.
"Water was awesome, Beach was awesome and beautiful and clean. Waves were amazing. Nastiest bathrooms on the face of the earth. People had their kids change outside while holding a towel in from of them. I only took pictures of the nice toilets. Most stalls don't have doors. T-shirts are cheap, but a salad is $30."

"If you’re someone who enjoys starting the day with a coffee in hand and a peaceful walk, this place might become your new favorite. You can stroll through quiet side streets or walk along the ocean, which makes the experience even more relaxing. There’s a nice local feel here, not too crowded, just calm and inviting. If you’re casually into surfing or kayaking, you’ll also find some good spots to enjoy. It’s a refreshing place to reset, take a breath, and enjoy the coastal vibe"

"Mission Beach Boardwalk is a beautiful, long stretch perfect for a walk, run, or casual stroll with your dog. The path is lively with people enjoying the beach, skating, biking, or just soaking up the sun. As you walk along, it leads to a really scenic rocky area that overlooks the ocean—such a peaceful, stunning spot to pause and take it all in.
There were definitely a lot of beachgoers when we visited, which added to the fun, vibrant vibe. We did happen to see a dead seal that had washed up on shore, which was sad, but nature happens—and it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Still, a great walk and a must-do if you’re in the area!"
