What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Boomer Beach is celebrated as a premier spot for observing sea lions, offering an unforgettable wildlife experience with hundreds of animals visible. Visitors appreciate the proximity to restaurants and the stunning coastal scenery. However, parking can be difficult, and the strong odor of the sea lions is a notable aspect for some.
"Best place in La Jolla to see a lot of sea lions in one place! It was my first time in San Diego as a tourist and didn't know where to go to for the best sea lion viewing experience. I started out at La Jolla Sea Lion Cove and saw a couple on the rocks, and then headed north west to Point La Jolla Sea Lion Rookery, but the sea lions weren't there. They were ALL on the beach sunning themselves on Boomer Beach. It was a great view of the different colours and sizes and you could hear and smell them! And super close to restaurants nearby where we ate dinner."
