What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise Glen Helen Amphitheater for its massive outdoor setting and the energy of live performances, especially during festivals. However, many consistently point out significant traffic congestion and long walks from parking as major drawbacks. The venue's capacity means crowds can be intense, and navigating the grounds requires patience.
"Was hesitant to come here for the first time cause I always see traffic anytime I’m driving up the 15 fwy. I was receiving text messages from the amphitheater almost the entire week letting us know to arrive early, 4:30 due expected high traffic. Well, due to personal reasoning we got there around 8pm. Traffic was not bad at all (compare to the RoseBowl iykyk). Took us about 15 minutes to park. Ladies DO NOT WEAR HIGH HEELS OR OPENED TOE SHOES. The walk up was an additional 15 minute walk, half a mile or so. We did not buy parking tickets In advance (our bad) however we were able to get FREE general parking. There’s enough restrooms and portable toilets with little not no wait time. Same for drink and food, little to no wait time"

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
For younger children, consider bringing ear protection as concerts can be very loud. Arriving early is crucial not just for traffic, but also to secure a good spot on the lawn and allow kids to acclimate to the environment before the crowds peak. Check the event schedule for family-friendly acts or festivals that might be more suitable for all ages.
💰 Budget Travelers
Look out for events that might not have the highest demand, as ticket prices can be lower. Following the venue or promoters on social media can alert you to potential deals or promotions. Navigating Glen Helen's Layout and Seating
For those seeking a more relaxed and budget-friendly option, lawn seating is available. While offering a more casual vibe, it's important to note that the walk from general parking to the lawn can be significant. Attendees often recommend bringing blankets or low-back chairs for comfort on the grass. Understanding the venue's layout, especially the distance from parking to your seating area, is crucial for a smooth experience.
When considering seating, factor in the Southern California sun. The pit area can offer shade from the stage during daytime performances, which is a significant advantage. Always check the specific seating chart for your event to understand the proximity to the stage and amenities.

Parking can be a mixed bag. While general parking is frequently free, it can be a substantial walk to the venue entrance, sometimes up to half a mile. Some events may offer paid parking options closer to the gates. It's wise to check event-specific information for parking pass availability and recommendations. Rideshares and carpooling are also popular alternatives for those looking to avoid driving stress.

Security checks are standard, and understanding the venue's bag policy beforehand can expedite your entry. Following venue social media accounts can provide real-time updates on traffic and parking conditions on the day of the event.
