"One of the newest art museums in downtown San Antonio, the Briscoe Western Art Museum is a treasure and a must-see attraction. While the collection is not enormous, it is very engrossing and centered around Texas, and to a large degree, cowboy art which is not widely accessible. This is a perfect place to see and absorb information on the cowboy culture.
It is a fantastic place to hang out for couple hours and perfect for families with young children. It’s also right on the Riverwalk so easy to swing by during your trot around. Highly recommended to visit during your trip to San Antonio."

"The Briscoe is a must visit when in San Antonio! Built in a lovely old post office, right on the river, it’s a beautiful example of adaptive reuse. The permanent collection is diverse with paintings, sculpture and western paraphernalia. The current temporary exhibit about the Spanish/Mexican Baja California cowboys who went to Hawaii is very well done and was a complete surprise to me. If you are choosing between the Fine Art Museum and the Briscoe, go western"
Cotty Lowry
"The Briscoe is a great museum. The traveling exhibit we got to see was also amazing. Highly recommend, especially if you love Western art or want to learn more about Texas or Native American history, etc. Lots of bronze sculptures and different types of paintings."
