Reviews Summary
Visitors find Proctor's Ledge Memorial to be a deeply moving and historically significant site, offering a tangible connection to the Salem Witch Trials. While appreciated for its solemnity and accuracy, some note the lack of on-site information and challenging parking/neighborhood access. It's a place for quiet reflection rather than a typical tourist attraction.
"Tangible link to the Salem Witch Trials
My daughter (13) and I visited the site on July 1, 2025. We were alone and had a nice peaceful reflection at the location.
This is the actual location where the executions took place, confirmed by ground-penetrating radar in 2016. Thus this location and memorial offer a tangible link to the Salem Witch Trials, allowing a better understanding of this dark chapter in history and the consequences of mass hysteria.
By remembering the events at Proctor's Ledge, the memorial serves as a reminder of the dangers of prejudice, unfounded accusations, and the importance of tolerance and due process.
Please take time to visit and reflect on these events."

"Rating it 5 stars because they did a good job with the memorial, looks nice, and it's clean. You should know that it's not in the best neighborhood, though. Do not go there after dark. There are signs that say this. There's no place to park, really. There's an abandoned walgreens next door that I parked at illegally. There are signs that say it's private property. I wish there was a plaquard there with some more information on it. Its free."

"Fun place to stop by and see the approximate place the hangings took place in 1692. There was a fire after the witch trials so the actual tree is not there from what we were told. The area that the tree was at is most likely where the apartment building is."
