What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Galt Preserve for its abundant wildlife, particularly bald eagles and diverse bird species, and its beautiful boardwalk trails through tropical landscapes. However, many warn about intense mosquito populations and occasional trail muddiness or closures, advising visitors to come prepared with bug spray and appropriate footwear.
"It's the rainy season so there was some flooding and I didn't have boots on so didn't hike much but will definitely come back. Saw a bald eagle right when I got here so that's promising for wildlife sitings!"
michael haag
"BRING BUG SPRAY. Seriously. I used bug spray and the mosquitos found any spot which I missed. Ruined the walk. Hard to stop and enjoy the place with bugs in your face and ears.
The Phil Buchanan Memorial Trail was closed. We did the small loop and some of the purple loop before giving up because of the mosquitos.
We saw two bald eagles hanging out on the power lines. Their nest is gone but they are still hanging around. Trails were a little muddy."
Darla Dume
"In my opinion not really worth it. Short walk to the lake, the St. Jude’s on the other side of the road is much nicer."
