"This is a pretty trail, but it is not clearly identified. I took the dog and he loved it but if yours is reactive to bikes, be careful. I followed the no bikes walking trail that starts in the parking lot off Old Alabama, and suddenly found myself on the narrow bike trail. I turned and walked back, thankfully, but that easily could have turned dangerous, and the walking trail needs to be marked clearly. I was following the no bike signs until I wasn’t and realized I was pretty deep in the woods. Nice trail, just be careful!"

Whether you’re looking for a leisurely walk or a quiet place to reflect, this part of the park is a true gem.

The trails were impressively neat, making them ideal for a smooth and enjoyable ride. Cyclists were out in full force, zipping through the trails with a sense of freedom that only nature can provide. If you’re looking for a great spot to bring family or friends for a scenic bike ride, this is definitely the place to be.

But what truly stood out today was an unexpected yet delightful encounter with a deer and a couple of ducks in a small pond. It was as if nature had staged a charming little performance just for those lucky enough to witness it. The deer moved gracefully, unbothered by the presence of onlookers, while the ducks playfully waded through the water. Moments like these remind us of how effortlessly wildlife and humans can share the same space, each appreciating the other in quiet admiration.

Big Creek Park is not just a destination—it’s an experience. Whether you come for the adventure of cycling, the serenity of the boardwalk, or the joy of unexpected wildlife encounters, it’s a place that leaves you with a deep appreciation for the outdoors. "Seemed like a great park for mountain biking! Not the best for hiking just because of lots of high speed traffic but my dog and I still had a good hike and it has great infrastructure - several bathrooms, free parking, benches, and lots of bumps and hills for the biking folks!"
