"When we came we were told they’re closing at 6:00. Cool, so we had a little over an hour to swim. Went to go down the tube slide and waited 30 minutes to be up next and as soon as we were getting our tube ready the lifeguard told us they’re closed and we can’t go down the slide."

"CONCERNED ABOUT LIFEGUARDS!!!!!
I actually like this water park a lot but I think they would be better off replacing a couple of the lifeguards. We went to whitewater junction on June 19th and my son and his friend saw a kid laying at the bottom of the pool in the deep end. They told the lifeguard and she said “No….he’s fine.” They looked underwater and saw he wasn’t moving so they yelled at the lifeguard and said he wasn’t moving and she needed to go save him. She actually hesitated before jumping in. You would think they would immediately start CPR but instead they struggled for over a minute to put on gloves first. Why didn’t the lifeguard rushing over put the gloves on while the others were dragging the boy out of the pool? I know safety is important but I think saving the boy’s life is a priority. Gloves shouldn’t be that important if there’s no blood. Someone could’ve at least started chest compressions while the others struggled to put gloves on. The lifeguard that initially ignored my son and his friend when they pointed out that someone was drowning should be fired.
UPDATE: I spoke with management about the lifeguard who didn’t take my son’s and his friend’s reports seriously. They said they looked at the cameras and saw the lifeguard had her eyes on the victim the whole time but didn’t jump in right away. I mentioned that it was concerning that a lifeguard could watch someone struggle and watch them sink to the bottom of a pool, AND THEN have two kids report multiple times that he was laying at the bottom of the pool not moving, and she still didn’t react right away. The manager said they “talked to her.” So apparently, as a lifeguard at whitewater junction, you can watch someone drown and have kids plead with you to save him, but still wait almost 2 minutes before diving in, only gets you a lecture from management. Very concerning!!!"
