What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find the Riverfront Canal Cruises to be an affordable, relaxing, and educational experience, offering a unique perspective on Richmond's history and natural beauty. While some mention issues with the captain's audibility or the tour duration, the overall sentiment is positive, highlighting the value and enjoyment of the cruise.
"I thought the tour was interesting, and I got to see parts of Richmond I hadn't seen before. I thought the price was reasonable. The only issue I had was that our captain was soft-spoken, and the sound system was not enough to carry his voice. The people in my group that were closer to him could hear okay but I was the furthest, close to the front of the boat, and I couldn’t hear him if there was a lot of traffic or if the people around me were talking. He had really interesting stories about the history of Richmond so I was really trying my best to pay attention. So if someone from the company is reading this please consider adding more speakers closer to the front of the boat so everyone can hear clearly."

"This was such a low cost fun date to enjoy! $15 a person and you can pay and reserve your time online. It stated it was 45 mins but it was only about 35 mins. I did think it went more around the James but it was still a really fun time. The guide was amazing!"

"I really enjoyed my cruise with Riverfront Canal Cruises! Our tour guide gave us lots of information about the canal spanning multiple centuries. We even got to see a train pass overhead at one point! And I saw an otter swimming in the canal which was amazing. It was super educational at a peaceful pace. The seating on the boat is set up so it would never be overly crowded which I appreciate."
