Visitors rave about the James River Park System's stunning river and city views, diverse trails, and free access. It's a beloved spot for hiking, running, and enjoying nature. However, some note that road maintenance to certain access points can be poor, and historical signage on the Slave Trail could be more extensive.
"One of my favorite places to visit. Evening sunsets are beautiful out on the James River. Morning hikes down the Richmond Slave Trail is an enlightening experience, but be careful, there are a lot of wildlife around, especially black snakes. There’s the docking pier so naturally so, this is a shared space. Rocket’s Landing is across the river."

"The water level is said to be around 12.6 , Tuesday morning. I took these pictures around 4:15pm Tuesday. The damage to property and amount of debris is crazy. The fast pace of the river was just mind blowing, and dangerous... Please use caution when stopping and taking pictures."
Tamara Nikkel
"The road into the Landing is full of ruts and potholes. Doesn't seem to be well maintained. Once you fight your way through the brush, it is a pretty cute of the Boathoyse at Rockets Landing and the boats on the water. You can see that it's a big "party" location."
