After finally putting them to use, I was shocked to find that within just two weeks, the sole has cracked and begun splitting.
I brought the boots to my local Red Wing store, and I was told they likely have “dry rot” and that there was nothing they could do. Frankly, this is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. I’ve owned budget-level boots—K-mart brands included—that held up better than this.
I chose Red Wing specifically for the reputation of durability and quality, and I expected a much higher standard. These boots were clearly defective, regardless of when I began wearing them. I’ve purchased several pairs of boots from Red Wing (check my purchase history) and this is the 1st time I’ve had a bad experience; unfortunately if this can’t be resolved this will be my last pair!"
