Reviews Summary
Visitors love Ratcliff Lake for its stunning natural beauty, particularly the tall pines and picturesque lake, making it a great spot for camping, swimming, and hiking. The well-maintained trails and facilities like restrooms are frequently praised. However, some note that the swimming area has become less pristine over time due to natural growth, and the secluded location means services are limited.
"This is our family’s main campground. Love the trails through the forest. The bathrooms are in good shape and the kids love the swimming area."
Stephen Harris
"so many childhood memories here swimming & the only thing is they let a lot of cattails & weeds as such grow up around the swimming area so the kids have to be more cautious when swimming! it used to be super super clean so you could dig in the sand for mussels but not really that way anymore….but other than that the beauty of tall pines is stunning!!!"
Deidra Kaye Rector
"Good campsites and picturesque lake with swimming, kayaking and fishing areas. Birding is great out here, saw over twenty species. The Tall Pines and Lakeshore trail are both nicely maintained. We did the Pines, Lakeshore, and part of the 4C trail. Around five miles and you can loop back on the forest road. Lakeshore trail has a section where it is Ada accessible for those who need it. Bathrooms are top notch also. The old saw mill ruins have some interesting history about the place and show how quick nature can take back over when allowed to."
