Scenery is beyond imagination, bison wandering around like a bunch of gangsters is by far the most amazing thing going on......caprock traffic jambs due to bison is just so funny, they really don't give a .
Campsites are nice and have alot of trees for some natural separation between sites, love waking up to bison wandering around.
My only complaint are from the amount of house flies most likely caused by the amount of bison poop, but can't have one without the other, it just made for needing to cook and eat inside all the time.
Lastly and this would be a great idea on trail improvement, it would be great if the trails looped around back to the start point or another point close. Eagle ridge, one end is close to the camp, which is great, but the other end is over 2 miles and to walk back through the same trail is kinda silly, the other trails you have to drive to get there, which is fine but same problem, you either walk the same trail twice or if you want to do a loop you are looking at over 8 miles of hiking, which if you are walking and not a professional is kinda far. Next time I'm bringing the bikes because that seems more reasonable for this trail system. I'm not complaining, just an idea for future trail setup? I wanted todo more trails but walking (and trying to carry enough water) for the distance required is just on the verge of too much for a non professional hiker.

"I had a ball while staying at Caprock Canyons State Park. beautiful area for walking and riding bikes. Plenty of hiking trails and the red rust hills were stunning at different times of the day. There is a buffalo herd in the park so you need to keep a good watch. They come and go pretty much where they want. A couple of times they came right through my camp which was fun. There are also dung beetles here because of the buffalo herd. They are industrious little guys and are fascinating to watch. The park staff were very friendly and seemed to enjoy chatting with Park guests. Love this park and will be back again."

"Genuinely one of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever been to! You need to take the trip here! The entire park is just so breathtaking and amazing, it’s takes so much longer to hike the trails because you’re stopping to take pictures every 5 minutes! The bison and prairie dogs are always out so you get to see them, the staff are friendly and helpful, the bathrooms are kept clean, and the trails are well marked and maintained. Definitely recommend this park!"
