Harpers Ferry Brewing is celebrated for its absolutely stunning panoramic views of the rivers and mountains, making it a top-tier scenic brewery. Visitors rave about the relaxed, family- and dog-friendly atmosphere, good selection of craft drinks, and weekend live music. While parking can be chaotic and the terrain hilly, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many planning return visits.
"A very nice place to gather near Harper’s Ferry.
Harper’s Ferry Brewery opened in 2018 on the site of the former Blue Ridge Rod and Gun Club. It is located on a hill on the south side of the Potomac and to the east of Harper’s Ferry (city). Today it is a very nice sprawling location that provides good food, a range of drinks, and wide views in a relaxed setting.. It seemed pretty easy to find and had plenty of parking, a main building with a bar for drinks, an inside window for food, and a small area for souvenirs. There seem to be a lot of eating areas to include tables indoor along with several outdoor seating areas that look out over the town and river. I had a hand-cooked pizza that was very good, some chips that were just okay, and excellent freshly made guacamole offered outside for a small extra charge. The brewery is family- and dog-friendly with lots of room to move around. Staff were friendly, and the place stayed clean even though it was busy. A practical touch was the pizza box recovery rack near the trash cans, which kept things tidy. The one challenge that I observed was the terrain. The parking and seating can require traversing up and down the hill that provides the great views so it may be challenging for some visitors. Overall, it was a very nice place to take a break, have a drink, a bit to eat and relax with friends while enjoying a great view."

"This brewery has amazing views, good beers selection, and good ciders. We enjoyed this place so much that we didn't want to leave. They had live music, a food truck, they also sells food, the service is good and the views are breathtaking. This will be our go to brewery for sure!"

"Absolutely love this spot! For some reason, I imagined it would be small, but it’s actually quite large—with plenty of parking available. I will note that the parking area is gravel, and when we visited on the weekend, there wasn’t anyone directing traffic, so it felt a bit chaotic.
Once you park and enter through the front, the space is decorated beautifully. During our visit, it was all done up for Halloween and looked super cute. There’s also a handicap-accessible ramp, which was convenient for our stroller. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, with lots of kids enjoying the afternoon.
Inside, there’s a large bar featuring mostly beers on draft, but I was also able to order wine. They offer a small food counter with snacks like pretzels, charcuterie, hummus, pizza, and more. Typically, there are food trucks on-site during the day on weekends, but since we came after visiting Harpers Ferry and arrived closer to 5 PM, they were closed. Thankfully, we were still able to grab a bite inside.
Another big plus—they have real bathrooms (not porta-potties), and they’re well-maintained. Just keep in mind that toilet paper runs out quickly since it’s a busy spot.
Behind the building, there’s plenty of outdoor seating, including a bonfire pit with chairs, a gazebo, lawn seating, and a few picnic tables for groups.
The view is stunning—it overlooks part of Harpers Ferry and the bridge, especially beautiful with the fall foliage.
I’d definitely come back again, ideally during the day to take in more of the scenery. It started getting dark early so I’m glad we brought jackets. The wind picks up since you’re on the top of a mountain. It’s such a cozy and inviting place—perfect for a casual visit or even renting out for a special occasion."
