What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Providence Performing Arts Center for its stunning historic architecture and the high quality of its touring Broadway shows and other performances. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful, contributing to a positive overall experience. However, parking and traffic can be significant drawbacks, with expensive garages and potential congestion. Some patrons also note that legroom in the seating can be quite limited.
"Amazing theater! Staff was polite, seating was great and the show was out of this world. Saw Riverdance in April 2025 and would recommend anyone that has a chance to see the show, not to pass up the opportunity.
Parking and traffic is horrible. The garage across the street is over $50 for a couple of hours of show time. It was pouring out so we took this option but there is no sign of the cost until you park and go to the kiosk to pay. By that time your going to pay it but it was a shock."
Gary Mathews
"PPAC remains a Providence institution and the interior is as beautiful as ever. The quality of the shows remains excellent and while the tickets are certainly not cheap, they are priced appropriately. The online ticketing system worked flawlessly."
Andrew Zullo
"Beautiful theater and friendly staff! In our 25+ years of attending shows and events here we have never had a problem. Great memories of attending shows with family and friends. Parking is relatively easy with options from paid lots and street parking to a large parking garage both in front and behind the theater.
While seeing a show in Boston is great, Providence is so much easier and there are many great food options in the area too!
Video is from Lindsey Stirling’s Holiday tour.
Fun fact: the PPAC used to be an old movie theater back in the day and was renovated into a theater for live productions."
