Reviews Summary
Portland House of Music is a well-loved local venue praised for its energetic atmosphere, great sound, and friendly staff. Attendees appreciate the ability to get close to the stage and the good beer selection. While seating is limited, ADA accommodations are excellent. Some visitors noted that door staff could be more welcoming, but overall, it's considered a great place for live music.
"Easy experience at the door, great beer selection at the bar with prices consistent for the area. There isn’t much for seating here, so expect to stand. There’s plenty of room on the dance floor and you’ll be right up close to the band, so you might as well go dance! I saw Dave Gutter on a Friday night in April, and he’s a local favorite so it was a great vibe and fun atmosphere with plenty of people in attendance."

"My friend and I went to see Stick to Your Guns and Bane last night, had so much fun! It was our first time at this venue and we are already looking at upcoming shows.
My friend requested ADA seating for us (non-visible disability, I do not believe the bathrooms have wheelchair access) and this was by far the best spot we’ve had at a venue. We’re used to upper mezzanines and folding chairs all crammed together, but here we had an actual high top table and chairs close to the front on the upper level about eye-level with the stage, so we could see perfectly. Amber even came over to make sure we were all set. With this being a smaller venue we weren’t sure if we’d get shoved in a corner or something, but we got the exact opposite.
All the staff were super kind, bar has a great tap list, and the show drew a friendly crowd. There’s even a parking garage right next door. This venue is doing everything right!"

"I've been mostly impressed overall when going to shows and events at Portland House. Went to the Cure tribute show this past week and had a blast! The bartender was really nice and friendly, the band was fun and the facility was super clean-including the bathrooms. I guess the one thing that would have caused me to rate it with a five star rating would be if we had been greeted by the door people in a more friendly manner. They weren't rude by any means, just definitely not welcoming.
Overall, a great local place to go see and hear some good tunes!"
