"My wife and I were driving by Battle Rock when I noticed out of the corner of my eye, a couple of people scrambling up a hill leading to the rock’s top.
My wife suggested doing a U-turn and that I should try to climb it as I was looking for hiking opportunities.
It was a challenge. One must scramble up the craggy edge before making it to solid ground to keep walking up.
A young couple was relaxing when I got to the top. We chatted for a few minutes, and the young man showed me how to get out to the edge which entailed walking through some brush.
The top offered some great views of the Oregon coast. I was glad we stopped!"
