"A museum and gift shop not to be missed. Nothing in Silver City compares to the sense of history that I experienced here. The gift shop also had more to offer as well and Ms Shaeffer share so many fascinating stories about her family’s 130+ history in Pinos Altos. We only waited 2 min for her to come open up on Sunday morning."

"A nice curio shop with all kinds of local stuff. Low pressure. They let you shop in peace. Prices very reasonable. The museum costs a dollar to tour. It is in a couple of rooms in the back of the shop. The lady's dad and grandad had collected all the memorabilia from a lifetime living there. Worth a stop."

"We drove through town on our way back from the Cliff Dwellings and the museum/gate was closed. The next day we drove back to Pinos Altos at 9:00am, when the museum is supposed to open. Gate was open, sign said it was open, but door locked. Called the number on the sign, no answer. Rang the doorbell, no answer after several minutes. Drove around, came back, same outcome. Made one more trip there later that day…no response to bell or calls. Four attempts! We won’t be back. What a disappointment since it sounds like a cool place!"
