What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the incredible sets and the opportunity to experience filmmaking magic firsthand, with many highlighting helpful staff. However, some reviews mention cleanliness issues and inconsistent management, suggesting that the visitor experience can vary. Despite minor drawbacks, the allure of seeing where favorite movies and shows are made remains a strong draw for many.
"Hands down one of the best productions experiences I’ve had. Not only are the sets themselves incredible, but they have the option to come pre-lit, which helps out a ton. Vincent — the staffer on hand — was helpful/knowledgeable/communicative, and went above and beyond to make our shoot run as smoothly as possible. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to film. Highly recommend!"

"random comment but my father used to own this building in the mid 2000s as a body shop and we had dozens of lowriders parked in the back along with massive spray booths where your green screen is! it's beautiful to see the space being used in a wonderful way!"
Natalie Aye
"This film set is really dirty - very dirty floors and dirty restrooms, the sets are dirty and worn out (paint falling off, scratched up floors etc.), and the holding area has a really bad smell.
Management was terrible and irresponsible too.
One good thing was that parking was easy.
Would not recommend overall."

Navigating Studio Tours: Tips from the Pros
On the day of your visit, wear comfortable shoes as you'll likely be doing a significant amount of walking. Many tours involve exploring large outdoor areas and sound stages. Bring a portable charger for your phone, as you'll want to capture plenty of photos and videos of the iconic sets and props. While some studios are very accommodating with photography, always adhere to the specific rules provided by your tour guide to respect ongoing productions. Some studios offer interactive elements, like green screen experiences, which are a fun way to feel like you're part of the action.
For those looking for a more in-depth experience, some studios offer VIP or extended tours that might include access to areas not typically seen on standard tours, or even opportunities to meet cast or crew members. These premium options often come at a higher price point but can provide an unforgettable experience for dedicated fans. Remember that the quality of the experience can also depend on the guide; a knowledgeable and engaging guide can truly bring the studio's history and magic to life.
The Reality of Studio Sets: Beyond the Glamour
Management and staff experiences can also vary. While many visitors praise helpful and knowledgeable staff members like 'Vince' who go above and beyond, others have reported negative interactions with management and found the facilities to be less than ideal, citing bad smells or poor maintenance. It's important to remember that these are working facilities, and while efforts are made to provide a good visitor experience, the primary function is production. Parking, as noted by one reviewer, can be easy, which is a definite plus.
Despite potential drawbacks, the opportunity to stand on sets where beloved movies and shows were filmed is a significant draw. The historical significance and the sheer scale of some studio lots are often highlighted as major positives. For many, the chance to see where their favorite stories came to life outweighs any minor imperfections, offering a unique and memorable experience for film and TV enthusiasts.
