Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate the Petaluma Riverfront for its serene atmosphere, beautiful sunset views, and the city's commitment to its waterways. The paved trail is ideal for low-impact walks and picnics. However, the notable lack of trash bins and the frequent presence of off-leash dogs are recurring points of concern for some.

"I love cities that have embraced the rivers that run through their towns and cities. They are natural icons that should be taken care of and preserved.
It seems the city of Petaluma and its citizens have taken this to heart.
Even though we did not have the time to look around this time, I will make a point of taking the time to visit this area in detail."

"Absolutely beautiful park, and a perfect sized loop if you want something low-impact and quick (today I finished the trail in about 38 minutes, including stops for my dog). There's decent parking in a small-ish lot (I've never seen it full), and despite being so close to a busy street, it is quite serene. The sunsets are spectacular.
Be forewarned: there are ZERO waste bins along the trail, so be prepared to carry your dog droppings the entire way, and to see a few abandoned poop bags along the trail where people gave up; or, if you choose to have a picnic at one one the many picnic tables, be prepared to carry any trash you may have thought you'd be able to toss. Considering the lack of waste bins, the trail is actually surprisingly clean (save the occasional crap bag, as mentioned before).
This isn't the park's fault, but an unfortunate, common sight in this park is people with their dogs off-leash, despite many signs saying to keep dogs leashed. Why do those people always have big, curious dogs? Today I scolded a woman for having her large dog wandering ahead of her off leash, and she said, "it's okay, she always stays by me", as I walked in the opposite direction and the dog followed me while carrying my little pup. These people are dumb and believe they're a special exception for some reason, so just watch out for them. There's at least one every time I go.
Besides the lack of waste bins and occasional irresponsible dog owner, I love this park and come often."

"I am really looking forward to the further plans to come to the waterlands here. The path followed the river & took us past art installations and a kids camp or learning center."
