What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Keuka Outlet Trail for its beautiful scenery, well-maintained path, and accessibility, especially for biking and dog walking. The waterfalls are a significant draw, offering picturesque stops. Some note that the trail's length might be better suited for biking than walking if time is limited, and advise being prepared for muddy conditions after rain.
"This is a pretty long trail and there is a lot to see, unfortunately if you are short on time, I don't think you should walk this trail. Just from experience, I think I would've enjoyed this trial more if I was riding a bike.
The trail is mostly flat, a lot of the scenic points are spread out, so I think riding a bike would really enhance the experience especially if you can't spend 3 or 4 hours walking the whole thing.
The parts that I saw were very beautiful."

"Great easy trail for walking. Well maintained and plenty of signs. They are working on the trail near the Liberty St bridge so be prepared to get off trail for a bit. Seems trail goes on for another 6 miles to Dresden. We did not go that far. Very dog friendly."

"Nice trail! I parked at the Dresden trailhead and went till Penn Yan, then turned around. Part of the trail was closed for construction, so I didn't see the furthest end, but what I walked along was clean and well maintained. There are benches periodically so that people can stop and rest, and several portapotties if you need a restroom. The two waterfalls along the way were lovely! The path is nearly flat so it's easy for walking, and I saw several bikers as well."

Exploring the Waterfalls
Many visitors recommend visiting the falls after a rainfall for a more dramatic display of water flow. While the falls are relatively close to the trail, it's worth noting that the trail itself is quite long, so planning your visit to include time for waterfall exploration is key. The sound of rushing water and the lush greenery surrounding the falls create a serene atmosphere, making them a must-see on your journey between Keuka and Seneca Lakes.
Biking vs. Walking the Trail
Walking the entire trail is certainly possible and offers a more immersive experience for nature lovers. However, be prepared for a longer excursion, potentially 3-4 hours, as the scenic points are spread out. The well-maintained path and periodic amenities like portable restrooms enhance the overall experience for both walkers and bikers.

From historic sites like Garrett Memorial Chapel to the Corning Museum of Glass, there's plenty to explore.
