"We attended the BBQ Dinner & Train Ride event hosted by St. Rose of Lima Church at Halter Ranch, and it was truly an unforgettable evening.
From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was outstanding. We were warmly greeted by a gentleman in a golf cart who drove us to the train ride. The staff there were wonderful, offering us wine and a souvenir train ticket before boarding. The train ride itself was a delight. Winding around the property, it was peaceful, fun, and even exhilarating at times. Honestly, it was better than Amtrak. A narrated guide highlighting the sights and art pieces along the way would make it even more special in the future.
After returning, we were taken by golf cart to the dinner location, where the evening continued to impress. Our group of six enjoyed a private dining room, perfect for celebrating my mother’s birthday. The BBQ dinner was fantastic, and our server, Liam, went above and beyond. He carefully accommodated our dietary restrictions, worked seamlessly with the chef, and even recommended a delicious dessert wine that we bought to take home.
As someone who grew up in SLO County, I’m amazed I hadn’t discovered this hidden gem sooner. The entire experience, from the train ride to the dinner, was wonderful, and our family can’t wait to attend future events at Halter Ranch.

"I had the most amazing experience at Halter Ranch. I was blown away by how clean, and how maintained the property was. The view when you walk into the tasting room/restaurant takes your breath away. The staff are extremely welcoming, the tasting is a bit more paced out but I think that is because you are also having lunch so it is good to have it spread out. Enjoy all the yummy kinds of foods and tasting. I had just one glass of Rose which was so delicious and refreshing! Our table had the charcuterie board, a tomato appetizer with whipped tofu spread, a summer salad with another whipped dressing, the burger with fries and the gnocchi. This was split between 5 people, plenty of food! I would highly recommend sitting outside, under the shade it is amazing! I can't wait to go back again!"

"Flew in for a quick weekend trip. It was incredible. We were able to get our twin engine Baron in safely. We stayed on the property at their Hunting Lodge with two other couples. Absolutely amazing and peaceful. We cooked an amazing dinner and sat in hot tub under stars. The wine and cave tour was incredible as well."
