Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge for its beautiful, quiet atmosphere and well-maintained, clearly marked trails. The interconnected paths offer flexibility for various hiking preferences, and the scenic ponds are a delightful bonus. While generally easy, some trails can be moderately strenuous, and autumn acorns may present slippery conditions.
"Beautiful quiet area! We tackled the Circle Trail ( considered Strenuous/ moderate). There were some moderately steep hills, but trails were very well maintained & labeled(numerous signs/ paint on trees to mark trails) ,unlike some places we’ve gone to hike. We connected to the Brooks Hollow trail to make our hike a little bit longer & it takes you by 3 different ponds, which was a nice added bonus.
If you go this time of year ( Early October) watch out for acorns - lots of acorns on ground which made for some slippery obstacles!"

"Really beautiful hiking trails, with lots to see and options for walking. There are multiple trails that merge into one another, so you can spruce up your walk each time you visit. Excellent map available at the entrance, including printed copies. We'll definitely be by again way more often."

"A little out of the way but worth it. The trails are all fairly easy. There are a number of large ponds. We had the place to ourselves it seemed. Persimmons were falling when we were there."
