"We love the playground and the paved trail to bike and walk on. There is a kayak take out that works great and the trail is nice and quiet following the river. Bring bus spray in the summer with the proximity to water."
Kristin Symon
"Very relaxed city park with a ton of greenery and places to hammock next to the river. There are a few short easy trails that circle the preserve and a long paved walking trail for runners. The Hays Nature Preserve 1.8 mile trail was partly flooded when I went in March blocking off the southwest portion of the trail. There were a ton of fishers using the lake. Pretty peaceful walk at sunset and it wasn’t too crowded. A great place to visit for a brisk outside walk to get some exercise and fresh air."
