The Oroville Spillway is a sight to behold 🌊 An important part of flood control measures, the spillway has been releasing water since early February. And with the reopening of the trails around the spillway, you can get up close and personal to the powerful flow of water. The spray and wind near the spillway can be very intense, so we recommend visiting on a warm day for an exhilarating experience...

"Love the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. If you go make sure to check out the museum as well as the lookout tower where you can see all sides of the lake. It has many trails to hike."

tina aranowski

"What can I say? I saw this beautiful treasure as I was making my way down to my sister’s place. I don’t think I had ever really noticed it before so I pulled off the highway. I was surprised that the pay station was right there so, I thought, I’ll just ask if I can get a couple photos. The attendant immediately asked, “are you here for the day?” I said, “no I was just driving by and noticed the beautiful lake. Would you mind if I just took a couple of photos? He said, “$7”. Wow! I was in shock and I still am. It takes one interaction in a town to put a bad taste in one’s mouth and that was it."

Cassandra Latourette

"Great place to take the kids, horses or just take in the view."
