What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Toon Lagoon is celebrated for its incredibly fun and notoriously wet water rides, Popeye's Bilge-Rat Barges and Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, offering a refreshing escape on hot days. Visitors also appreciate the vibrant, classic comic strip theming and character meet-and-greets. However, some note that the rides could benefit from updates, and the dining options are somewhat limited.
"I’m blessed to get invited to Orlando Informer MeetUps. We had an incredible time at the Universal Studio parks.
On this side, Islands of Adventure, I ate at Cafe4 (best park pizza). I got to ride the Incredible HULK ride (with no wait), see a few goblins...lol.., see Spider-Man after riding in his adventure, experience Kong on Skull Island, and fly over to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Could a girl (or guy) ask for anything more???
It was the most fun....
We arrived late in the afternoon, so the sun had gone down, for the most part. The swarms of people were on there way out. I had copious options of places to eat with several varieties of food to choose from. It’s a good thing too, because I’m picky. My friends and I were able to talk amongst ourselves, goof off, and ride rides without being exhausted. I loved the beverage carts that were out and about, to quench our thirst as we walked from one area to the next. It was a perfect evening, especially with the desserts offered... oh my!"

"On March 21, 2022 we were stuck in line for 30min at Spider-Man. From 1030-1100, then they shut down the whole ride itself. The last time I was here that happened to King Kong. C'mon Universal get your act together, I didn't pay all this 💰💰💰 for a carnival/fair experience!!!!!! You never see this at the other major theme parks"

"Entertaining, and fun rides when they are working or when you don't need a virtual line pass. Harry Potter part was the best. Not friendly like Disney parks, but hey...its not Disney. Not worth ticket without park hopper to Universal."

The Iconic Water Rides of Toon Lagoon
Many visitors emphasize the need for preparation. Packing a poncho or a complete change of clothes is almost a rite of passage for experiencing these rides. Waterproof phone cases are also a popular recommendation to protect electronics from the inevitable spray. The sheer amount of water involved is a recurring theme in reviews and social media posts, with many finding it a welcome and refreshing experience, especially during the hot Florida weather.

For those looking to cool off and embrace the chaos, these rides are a must-do in Toon Lagoon.

Even the smaller details, like the vintage camera lens used in some photography showcases, highlight the nostalgic charm of the area.
While some visitors might overlook Toon Lagoon in favor of more thrill-oriented attractions, its underrated charm and unique aesthetic are frequently praised. It's a place where the artistry of animation and comic books comes to life, offering a delightful escape for fans of classic cartoons and those seeking a visually engaging environment. The playful atmosphere makes it a fun area to explore, even if you're not riding the water attractions.
