"On my way home, stopping by the Willamette Falls Scenic Viewpoint called out to me because it’s literally right off the road. It’s gorgeous with a little chunk of history behind it regarding the former paper mill. The viewpoint provides a peaceful viewpoint. Although, one group of people were doing it better than me by stopping by the pub across the street first :)"

Derrick Lenzer

"I really liked it here. Its just a little pull off place off the road but the view is quite amazing. I'd like to go back to learn more about it."

Rachael Taylor

"This is one of the few places where you can see Willamette Falls. You can also get a good view from the Oregon City West Linn bridge, but unlike their you can actually park right near here and have a view of the falls once you get out of the car.

Historically, this spot is extremely important. Access is easy, and there are some great historical signs here to talk about the historical significance of the falls and the area in general. You can still see some of the old paper mills there, must have been shut down but they haven't been fully removed yet. One did catch fire, but for now they're still there.

The Falls can get absolutely roaring during spring runoff, and Willamette Falls is considered the largest waterfall in the Pacific Northwest and the 17th largest in the in the world. It hasn't horseshoe shaped stretching 1500 ft wide and 42 feet high, with the flow rate of 30,850 cubic feet per second.

Needless to say, even though views of this Falls can be quite hard to come by it's quite impressive by the numbers. If you love waterfalls and are interested in the history of the area, this spot is not to be missed."
