Reviews Summary
Trimper's Rides offers a beloved blend of nostalgic charm and classic boardwalk fun, particularly praised for its vintage rides like the 1912 carousel and the iconic Haunted House. Families with younger children find it delightful, though some older visitors note a lack of modern thrill rides and suggest the park could benefit from updates. The friendly staff and historical atmosphere are consistent highlights.
"We had an amazing time at Trimper Rides in Ocean City! It’s such a fun mix of nostalgic charm and exciting attractions. The kids had a blast on the classic rides, and the whole place has that timeless boardwalk vibe that makes you feel like a kid again too.
Everything was clean, well-run, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Whether you’re there for the little kid rides or just soaking in the fun atmosphere, Trimper Rides is a must-visit for families. 5 stars for sure!"

"My 11 year old daughter gave this a 3.5. She's had better experiences elsewhere. She's been on better rides and wish they had More for older kids so she says. From my perspective its old and outdated. Could use a fresh coat of paint and some ride enhancements."

"It's whatever. 80% of the rides are for 4-8 years old. Very boring. The roller coaster is very mid and it genuinely hurts your head. You get whiplash and a horrid headache. It's not anything special. The magnum PI ride is okay . It's not the worst I've ever been on . The pirates cove is genuinely so stupid. It's fine for little ones but it might be scary for them. It's just a big maze with 3 floor interactions. It's meh. The mirror maze takes 5 seconds to figure out. The haunted house costs 8.50 to ride and it's hella overpriced but it's probably the best thing there. The ride beside the magnum is fun, good amount of air time and it's good to cool off. The park is definitely meant for ages 3-13. And I was promised a ferris wheel but that wasn't there. The 25 for 2 hours isn't a bad deal I guess. The UFO ride is your typical fair ride. This whole park is sorta just a glorified fair. Both of the music rides are the same. Ones just in a car shaped cart instead of a seat. The one that's inside of the park genuinely hurts so bad . My 10 year old sister who's 100 some pounds was absolutely crushing me into the side. There's a sharp metal price on the side and she wouldnt stop making it go deep into my skin and it hurts but it's cool I guess. Very bland. Jolly Roger definitely would be a better pick than trimpers . And if you want to go just for the haunted house you don't need a wristband for it nor a card . I haven't been to jolly Roger yet but I can assure you it's 100x better than this if your above the age of 13 even. Lines were very minimal but the vending machines were ridiculously priced. 5 dollars for a water that I could have bought from dollar tree. They don't search your bags there's no security at all . It's just a glorified fair. Absolutely nothing special about it. Staff were very kind tho. Give them a raise 😂"

Consider purchasing a ride package that suits your family's planned duration to maximize the fun without overspending. The park's manageable size also makes it easier to keep track of little ones.
🎢 Thrill-Seekers and Teens
It's worth noting that Trimper's doesn't feature the extreme roller coasters or high-tech rides found in larger amusement parks. Some reviews mention that the roller coaster can be a bit rough. If your group is primarily looking for adrenaline-pumping rides, you might want to supplement your visit with other Ocean City attractions. However, for a dose of nostalgic thrills and a genuinely spooky experience, Trimper's Haunted House is a must-visit.

The Enduring Charm of Trimper's Rides
The atmosphere at Trimper's is a significant part of its appeal. The sounds of the classic rides, the smell of popcorn, and the vibrant energy of the boardwalk create a unique sensory experience. It's a place where families can create lasting memories, with parents and grandparents often sharing stories of their own childhood visits. This intergenerational connection is a key reason why Trimper's remains a beloved destination. The park's location directly on the boardwalk also means it's easily integrated into a broader Ocean City beach vacation, offering a perfect break from the sun and sand.
While the park leans heavily into its historical roots, it also offers attractions that cater to a range of ages. The Inlet Eye Ferris Wheel provides stunning panoramic views, and the Tidal Wave roller coaster offers a classic thrill. However, the true standout for many is the Trimper's Haunted House, a legendary attraction known for its old-school scares and creepy ambiance. This blend of historical rides and unique attractions ensures that Trimper's Rides offers a distinct and memorable experience for anyone visiting Ocean City.
Navigating Trimper's Haunted House
Be prepared for a sensory experience that leans into the uncanny. The ride is known for its effective use of darkness, sound effects, and unexpected moments designed to startle. While some reviews mention the possibility of live actors providing scares, the primary experience is through the ride's built-in effects and theming. It's a ride that has stood the test of time, maintaining its spooky charm and appeal for both those who rode it as children and newcomers alike.
It's important to note that the Haunted House is a separate ticketed attraction, not included with general park ride passes. Many visitors consider it well worth the admission price for the unique experience it offers. If you're looking for a classic, spine-chilling adventure that harks back to a bygone era of amusement park scares, Trimper's Haunted House is an essential stop.
Ride Variety and Age Appropriateness
For older children, teenagers, and adults, the park still holds appeal, though the selection is more limited. The Tidal Wave roller coaster provides a classic wooden coaster experience with some airtime, and the Inlet Eye Ferris Wheel offers scenic views. The standout attraction for many older visitors is the Haunted House, which delivers a more intense and spooky experience. Some reviews suggest that while the park is enjoyable, it might not offer the same level of thrill rides as larger, more modern amusement parks.
When planning your visit, consider the age range of your group. If you have younger children, Trimper's is a fantastic choice. If your group consists mainly of teenagers or adults seeking high-octane thrills, you might find the selection of rides to be more moderate. However, the overall nostalgic atmosphere and the unique historical rides, like the 1912 carousel, provide a charming experience for all ages.
