What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Oak Park Public Library for its extensive resources, modern facilities, and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The expansive children's section and innovative Creative Studio are particular highlights, making it a beloved community hub for all ages. While classic titles might require interlibrary loans, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
"This is a great library! In addition to the Main library, there are two satellite branches, Maze and Dole, serving the community of Oak Park. The staff members at Main are very helpful. The library has a large selection of books, I see mostly current and popular fiction titles on the shelves. Classic titles are harder to find and I either order from another library or order an ebook. I have made requests for books in the past thru the interlibrary systems, titles that the library does not have and I need for writing projects. The staff has been able to find most of the titles that I have requested and I appreciate their help. Our family has enjoyed making use of the Creative Studio, particularly the 3D printer, to create items for the kids to paint and play with. I have included some examples of those items in my photos. Overall, a very good library system!"

"First time going to this library on a Tuesday and I was very delighted with the friendly and helpful staff. We frequent Chicago public libraries so I asked if we need to fill out an application form to use the facility and borrow books since we are not residents of Oak Park. Was told that we just needed to present our Chicago public library card and they can give us a temporary access to the library. Only checked out the reception area and was pleased with what I saw. Will check out other floors and rooms next time we are in the area.
Also, I love that a park (Scoville Park) is directly outside the library and benches are available to enjoy reading and just chilling.
Updating to 5-stars! Visited it a few times and I am just ecstatic with what I have seen so far."

"Perfect place for a rainy day. The kids section on the first floor is 4 times the size of the entire library in my small town. They have kids books divided by subject to make them easy to find.
There is a corner area for toddler and infants. It has a soft floor and a barrier to make sure no one wonders off. There is a really cool interactive wall with mobs that change color when you turn them.
Three floors to explore."
