Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Schofield Ford Covered Bridge as a remarkable historical landmark and a photogenic spot within the beautiful Tyler State Park. Its unique unpainted facade and the story of its rebuilding resonate with many, though some note it's a reconstruction rather than original. The surrounding park offers ample trails and natural beauty, making it a worthwhile destination for a peaceful outing.

"A remarkable historical landmark I had the pleasure to experience throughout my walk. Although destroyed by an act of arson, the bridge stands with a notable history after the construction and reopening in 1997.

Tranquility sparks beyond this trail filled with nature’s beauty and history behind some buildings when you cross this bridge. It’s no doubt that this 164-foot bridge earns its badge as a historical landmark that everyone should see and know its history."

"This is one of the biggest covered bridges I've been to. It's not original, it was rebuilt in the 1990s but it's still impressive and photogenic and in an idyllic setting. It's in a beautiful park with lots of trails and fields, and there's an abandoned 1700s farmhouse you can look at."

Angel Galindo

"To help the farmers in the area get across Neshaminy Creek, a covered bridge was built in 1873. The bridge, known as Schofield Ford Covered Bridge is 164 feet long, making it the longest covered bridge in Bucks County.
Unfortunately, the bridge was destroyed by arsonists in October 1991. However, citizens banded together to have it rebuilt, and it opened again to the public in 1997.
During the rebuilding process, the original specifications were followed exactly, with the exception of adding two windows in the middle of the bridge. The Tyler State Park covered bridge was also kept unpainted, which is both historically accurate and unique among Bucks County’s covered bridges.
The nearby parking area has a step-up for horse mounting."
