What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
King Park is praised for its beautiful waterfront views, especially during sunset, and its historical significance related to the American Revolution. Visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, paved walkways for strolls, and picnic spots. Some note that the beaches are small and not ideal for swimming, and parking can be difficult during peak times.
"Great place for a summer break, a northerly breeze cuts right across the Bay. Plenty of shade, a southerly warmer breeze, gets knocked down by the trees behind."

"Very nice Park, but when looking at past reviews, there are old pictures of what the park used to look like. It looks like the pic I’m posting."
Annette CS Schimpf
"Beautiful little waterside park in Newport, with spectacular views of the harbor and the bridge in the distance, particularly around sunrise or sunset. There’s a couple small beaches there, more for dipping your toes in the water than actually having a beach day. The grassy area is not very wide, but does stretch a decent distance along the waterfront. At the western end, there’s a pillar and statue to inform visitors of the historical significance of the area, as it was near there where the French army first disembarked under General Rochambeau in the American Revolution and turned the tide of the war. It’s a nice, peaceful place to enjoy nature and reflect on the sequence of events, hundreds of years ago, that led to the world of today."
