Reviews Summary
Old Town Cemetery Newburgh is recognized for its significant historical value, featuring gravestones dating back centuries and offering a connection to ancestral roots. However, visitors consistently note serious safety concerns regarding the surrounding neighborhood, advising daylight visits and group attendance.
"Yes, this is a beautiful OLD cemetery dating back to the late 1600's with some AMAZING gravestones all throughout. BUT, it's surrounded by some of the worst ghetto I've ever seen. Transients sleep in the cemetery and you'd better keep your car within eyesight. Definitely do not go visit after dusk and I recommend you go in a group and not alone. It's a VERY bad area. The pyramid mausoleum is beautiful but has been defaced by vandals. Just watch your back if you go there."
