Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the historical significance of the Mason-Dixon Tri-State Marker and the surrounding trails in White Clay Creek State Park. The park offers a good hiking experience with options for longer explorations. However, some find navigation to the marker can be tricky if not following specific advice.

"This place is great. Bryan's field trail leads into a bunch of nice trails and you can get a good 10 miles in if you take all the perimeter options. It's a state park so you can get a year pass for $30, or pay $4/day for in state, and $8/day for out of state."

Brandon Tóth

"Needed to check Post Mark'd West off of my Mason Dixon bucket list. Dont follow Google directions if driving. You need to go to possum point parking lot THEN use Google directions or just follow the trail signs. Google wants you to randomly walk through the woods instead of the trails. Maybe it's the time of year but where you need to turn right off of Bryan's trail you can barely tell its a trail. Look for the number signs (22 and 23) that are for hunting spots if you aren't sure if you should go straight or turn."

Hilary Ennis

"The "Post Mark'd West" is a stone monument installed in 1953 to mark the original location of a wooden post erected by Jeremiah Dixon and Charles Mason along the latitudinal line of the Pennsylvania- Maryland border. The Mason-Dixon Line begins just over two miles to the west.

This stone marker can be accessed via a 10-minute hike along the Whitley Farms and Bryan's Field trails leading from the White Clay Creek State Park Possum Hill parking lot."
