What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Canal Market District for its vibrant community atmosphere, diverse vendor selection, and the thrill of finding unique items. The market is seen as a positive sign of Newark's development, offering a lively and engaging experience for shoppers and families alike. Some find prices a bit high, and the elements can be a factor, but overall, it's a recommended destination.
"Green Magic Farms is at the farmers market vending there every Friday and thats where I get all of my herbal/apothecary needs. Highly recommend!"
Kelley Sowers
"Went to the farmers market, they have a lot of good looking veggies but they are priced a little high"
Eric Cochran
"Clean, safe, family friendly, and easy to access little Market in Newark. I love the long layout and vendor variety. The local highschool band was performing today. Local police presence adds security for vendors and shoppers. Public restroom available, which was also clean. This market is beside a free parking lot and a lot of city parking is available as well. This market should be considered handicapped accessible, since there were handicap signs as well as sidewalks. I would definitely consider noise volume and sensory issues, as a parent, if I were bringing my kids. The over head structure provides shade but the wind was blowing some papers and at one point the setting sun was a little intense to those on the sides. These are all just parts of nature, nothing against the market, but as a vendor or shopper you should prepare to still be subjected to the elements!"
