What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Algiers Ferry for its incredible affordability and scenic views of the New Orleans skyline. It's praised as a safe, efficient, and enjoyable way to travel between the French Quarter and the charming Algiers Point neighborhood, especially with the option of a day pass for unlimited rides. While generally positive, some minor issues like unclear signage and occasional rude staff have been noted.
"This was an easy and inexpensive way to get to the French Quarter. We bought Jazzy passes so $3 a day we had unlimited ferry, street cars and bus. If not, the ferry costs $2 each ride. The inside is air conditioned and has big windows. The upper deck is open air. There are many workers on the ferry and both stations had visible security. This ferry felt safe being a visitor from out of town. Many people commuted by ferry and brought their bikes, e-bikes and mobility scooters for no extra charge. There is a parking lot next door which costs $7 to park. This seemed cheap compared to lots in the French Quarter. My only complaint is there are not signs directing you where to go to catch the ferry. Actually where you enter is behind a concrete barrier which says do not enter."

The ferry is clean, comfortable, well runand gives you a unique view of the city. Thank you!
I’ll be back."
